Delicate salmon-pink petals surround a deep burgundy centre, emerging from a background of rich, shadowy greens. Thick palette-knife strokes give the flower an almost sculptural quality, while the loosely painted foliage suggests the quiet mystery of a shaded garden.
An original oil painting inspired by the gardens of High Park, Toronto.
